Hey Pete,
You make some valid points. PM doesn't phone it in, and I liked the concert; however, I feel that his ego got in the way of his songs and my 100% enjoyment of the evening. A talented, musical genius who is truly secure within himself doesn't need to ask for applause; he would know that it is already coming. Sometimes it takes a minute for people to realize that a song is over because they don't want it to be over. Hmm ... perhaps Paul lacks patience, too. Thanks for reading! XoXo

Instead of having him "drink it all in", would you rather have him ignore the crowd as so many others do, e.g. Bob Dylan? Paul is humble and playful on stage, and you will have a hard time finding a more sincere performer. When he sings "Here Today", he urges people not to wait until it's too late to share their feelings with someone they love, as he unfortunately did with John: is that an "over-the-top" display of ego? The guy is pushing 70, plays for almost three hours, sings in the original key, and never phones it in. He's written more iconic songs than anybody, so of course the show is "all about him". It says "Paul McCartney" right there on your ticket, concert program, and shirt. Didn't you notice? Who do you want the show to be about, you? Sheesh, lighten up.

Hello Alejandro. I think Paul is an excellent musician; however, one can be an artistic genius without believing he/she is the center of the universe (e.g., Glenn Gould). Thank you for reading!

Thank you for the compliment; I do spend a lot of time thinking, researching, writing, and editing my blog posts before publication.
